Deburring is needed to remove excess material, burrs and imperfections that remain on a part after fabrication, which can interfere with the function, aesthetics or safe handling of a part. Accurate Burring Co., LLC offers two types of deburring, both wet and dry. Choice of process depends on part shape, features, type of a material and requirements. Each of the processes can provide customer with many results at the same time, such as:
We achieve all of that through use of specific medias and other materials.
Also referred to as fat trimming or defatting, degreasing is an essential part of the production processes of multiple industries to clean fabricated or assembled metal parts. At Accurate Burring Co., LLC, degreasing parts is one of our specialties. Learn more about the degreasing process, the degreasing services we offer, and how diverse industries benefit from this part-cleaning technique.
Processes like machining, stamping, die-casting, and welding can leave oil-borne contaminants behind on part surfaces, which can impede a component’s performance. The degreasing process removes any lubricants, grease, and oils that have collected during manufacturing or assembly operations. It’s particularly useful for electronic parts and assemblies and is compatible with virtually all part configurations, sizes, and metal materials.
At Accurate Burring, we understand that degreasing isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. We operate several machines, each of which caters to different components and customer applications. Unlike our competitors, we specialize in removing paraffin-based lubricants with our degreasing services. Our team utilizes two main types of degreasing processes, allowing us to ensure the most efficient and effective clean for any application.
Processes like machining, stamping, and forming can leave behind oil and coolant on component surfaces. Vapor degreasing is a surface finishing technique that cleanses parts of these substances to ready them for additional finishing treatments. Vapor degreasers use vaporized solvents to achieve an effective clean, and the process is ideal for components that, due to their shape and size, are more likely to experience distortion.
In addition to cleaning surfaces, dry degreasing also has applications in brightening a component’s finish. Dry degreasers cleanse parts of oils and lubricants by using various dry media. This technique is the optimal choice for components that tend to nest or rust, and it has no impact on tight dimensional specifications.
Some of the primary industries we serve with our degreasing capabilities include:
Industrial degreasing is an effective cleaning solution that combines ease of use, affordability, and eco-friendliness with superior cleaning capabilities. You can utilize spray guns to apply degreasing cleaning chemicals to a part’s surface, and these degreasers are designed to clean effectively in a short period of time for greater efficiency. Their chemical composition quickly reacts with that of oils, grease, and other contaminants.
These cleansers are typically environmentally friendly with no requirements for specialty PPE, and you have the option to dilute them as needed for your application. Requiring less water, time, labor, and equipment, degreasing is a cost-effective cleaning option.
Since 1983, Accurate Burring has offered a comprehensive suite of cleaning, finishing, and deburring services coupled with quick turnaround, on-time delivery, and competitive pricing. In addition to vapor and dry degreasing, we also provide aqueous and ultrasonic cleaning, burnishing, deburring, citric acid passivation, and white-glove inspection services to provide comprehensive solutions for varied industries.

Since 1983, Accurate Burring Co., LLC has specialized in deburring, cleaning, and finishing services for clients in widespread industries. One of our core competencies is passivation. Learn more about this effective cleaning and finishing service, our team’s capabilities, and passivation applications in various markets.
Industrial passivation is a metal finishing process that metalworkers use to prevent corrosion and rust development on stainless steel part surfaces. The process achieves this by exposing stainless steel components to a solution of either citric or nitric acid. It eliminates any iron or iron compounds on a stainless steel part’s surface without also removing any of its nickel or chromium content. Once completed, this process will have produced a thin oxide layer on a part’s surface to improve its resistance to rust.
At Accurate Burring, we are a green company and so we utilize citric acid passivation exclusively for its eco-friendliness. Our team utilizes stainless steel baskets, polyurethane baskets, and rotating baskets to submerge parts into the citric acid. These baskets’ hole sizes vary so that we can accommodate parts of various shapes and sizes while ensuring part security. Our team is adept at using passivation effectively on laser-marked components. We also use deionization (DI) water tanks, hydrometers, pH readers, and centrifugal spin dryers – either heated or unheated – in our passivation processes and weekly maintenance.
We will accept low-volume jobs and have customer-allocated processing and equipment. Also, we provide certification for our passivation services and comply with the following industry standards and testing requirements:
Passivation is well-suited to numerous industries, including:
Some methods and harsh solvents for cleaning parts can actually damage their surfaces. The protective oxide layer that passivation creates, however, actually helps stainless steel surfaces maintain their strength and structural integrity. Routine passivation keeps stainless steel parts from rusting, which has the side benefit of decreasing maintenance needs and the risk of unplanned equipment downtime. Consistent productivity increases revenue and reduces repair costs, as well.
Passivation cleans at a molecular level, effectively removing contaminants. This makes passivation in the pharmaceutical industry, for example, quite useful as it can achieve a high degree of cleanliness and purity on parts to safely carry out their applications.
At Accurate Burring, we’re committed to continual improvement. We believe in offering quality services you can trust at competitive prices and with on-time delivery. In our 24,000-square-foot facility, we have stations for aqueous cleaning, vapor degreasing, wet deburring, burnishing, and dry tumbling in addition to passivation to offer comprehensive capabilities that fulfill our customers’ varied needs. Our diverse client base consists of industries ranging from automotive, aerospace, and medical to cosmetics, batteries, and hardware.

Ultrasonic cleaning is a very efficient, powerful and effective process that uses ultrasound and appropriate cleaning solution to rapidly remove dirt particles. This involves the use of high-frequency sound waves.
The equipment could be used just with water, but use of specific chemistry appropriate for the item to be cleaned and the type of soiling present enhances the effect.
Aqueous Cleaning is a process in which oil, grease and containments are removed by use of a water-based solution. Our Aqueous cleaning process can be applied with or without the use of ultrasonics, heat or auto agitation/rotation.
The benefits of aqueous cleaning are significant to cleaning deep drawn parts, removal of paraffin-based lubricants, parts with closed features such as blind holes to name a few.
This process improves the service finish on metal parts using a dry process which consists of selected medias such as walnut shell, specialty cob and brightening agents to enhance the finish. Our specialized superfinish/burnish process is capable of improving micro finish from 20 micro to 4 micro regardless of material type.
Accurate’s superfinish/burnish process alleviates the need to polish/buff each piece individually which saves our customer time and money and provides uniform and consistent product.
Inspection is performed before, during and after processing of all orders, some visual and tactile for verification of cosmetic uniformity, burr and sharp edge removal from stamped parts. We also use many various measuring devices like digital gauges, scopes with different magnification capabilities, surface roughness measuring testers, optical comparator and more, to verify that customer’s parts requirements have been met and the quality level is at our highest.
For our customer’s convenience Accurate Burring Co., LLC provides pick-up and delivery daily. We have a 12,500 pound capacity box truck, as well as a two-ton cargo van for pick-up of smaller lots.
Accurate Burring prides itself in on time delivery and quick turn-around of customer’s parts. Normal turn-around time for us is three days, but it is not uncommon to do next day delivery with ample notice.
